Through the constant monitoring and adjustment of your thoughts, you can eventually limit the anxiety and theoretically, wipe it out alltogether.
Thoughts were the catalyst to the anxiety symptoms, that usually start when we are too young to know that thinking and dwelling on problems actually causes anxiety.
Thoughts started it. Thoughts can end it.
It is a long process and doesn't happen overnight. You will still be faced with many of the anxiety attacks and other symptoms during the process, however, the more you stay in control and choose your thoughts, the better you will get.
Each time you feel anxiety, take note of the situation it arose in. Then go off and think about it, question it, and think back to when it may have started all those years ago. Understand it and respect it. Don't hate it. You started it. Unknowingly.
Once you understand it. Be patient and each time you are confronted by the situation that causes anxiety you will be ready, because you will have already analyzed and understood it.
When the anxiety comes, start choosing other thoughts and learn to respond instead of react. Never put yourself down for feeling that way, that makes it worse. Understand it and slowly change it, by thinking. If you feel anxiety coming, quickly take your mind off it by immediately thinking of something else or jumping into some kind of action, thereby giving the anxiety no room to surface. It becomes a habit and will replace the anxiety habit.
It will disappear, the more you stay in control.
Thoughts - Emotions - Symptoms. Remember that formula.
