I think it is not so much about personality as about character, consciousness, and the choice to learn a skill. Forgiveness is a trait we can practice if we choose. It requires a desire to return to love, self-awareness, acceptance of our own anger and tendencies to feel offended and hold onto it, and a willingness to let joy into our lives. I have found that, by developing these qualities, I have moved from a place of carrying around resentment and anger to a place where I almost never get angry any more, and, when I do, I forgive within seconds. My own peace of mind is precious to me, and a gift to others that I want to give with every breath.
