What do you do about cravings and portion control to keep your diet healthy?

I tend to drink lots of water and stay away from soda since it increases women's chance on losing bone density over time -that's what I have heard-. Lately though I have a hard time just not wanting to watch my portion size and want more sweets. It takes discipline so what do you do? Do you meet yourself halfway by indulging a little? Do you take in an extra 20 minutes of cardio so you can earn your craving/little extra in portion size? Remember not all cravings should be ignored, it could be your body telling you of a possibly vitamin deficiency.

Cravings are one thing I have to deal with on occasion. I also agree that having healthy choices is what helps: fruit, nuts, yogurt are always a good option. Yes, keep those tempting goodies out or sight and reach.

I have fasted before and I don't mind it after the first 12 hours. But funny how it's something that I forget is easily available to us.
