How does one cope with Agoraphobia (fear of open spaces/fear of no escape)?

I was diagnosed in early 1998 with agoraphobia after just having my second son. Along with increased panic attacks, my doctors said it was a form of postpartum depression. My panic attacks had gotten so intense and so frequent, I was afraid to leave my house. As a result, I developed agoraphobia. Thankfully, with meds, meditation and therapy, it was short lived. But many people are not ask lucky.
