Hello, There are many foods that can boost your body's ability to defend against UV RAYS. Dark chocolate helps because it has special antioxidants called flavonoids. These protect the tissues from the harmful damaging effects of free radicals. Make sure the chocolate has 70% or more cocoa in it though. Drink some green tea. It has potent antioxidants as well as anti-inflammatory properties. This could raise your skin's tolerance to the sun. Two or more cups a day can help, but make sure you drink it hot. It seems that as the temperature of the tea drops, so do the benefits. Walnuts can also help due to same properties. Try a handful of them. I'm sure on a ketchup bottle at one point or another, you may have seen the word lycopene. This helps neutralizes free radicals as well. It also blocks the UV rays from penetrating the skin. Try this pureed or cooked.
Of course, this is not a substitution for sunscreen.
