Who is responsibile for the safety of your family in times of dangerous weather conditions?

If a hurricane or other natural disaster is indicated for your area, whose responsibility is it to insure your safety and the safety of your family?

You are. If they predict the Hurricane is coming your way? By all means, Grab what you can, And get out of it's path to safety.

Everyone. It is a team effort. My partner and I come up with the check list that we printed from an online website, make sure what we have and don't have. He buys what we don't have while I check the interior of the house and organize where everything goes. He checks the exterior of the house, locks, plants, windows, etc. Sometimes if it is going to be higher level hurricanes we have extra windows, plenty of wood in the shed, blankets, candles, fruit, etc. And I always pick up extra gasoline to house in the garage in case electricity is out in the area for a couple of days.

The aliens. You are responsible for the safety of you and your family. I guess I don't get the question.

Everyone.... the older ones ( the parents) may advise the smaller ones.. talk to them about precautions to take.., give them moral support and you yourself gather necessary things that you all will need. you should create a good atmosphere for even smaller ones (babies) and everyone must make their possible efforts to adjust with the situation... staying alert about every news and passing the messages to others.

At the time of the storm, you are responsible for having necessary supplies and medications on hands and having an evacuation plan if needed. Prior to Hurricane system, your local, state and national governments are responsible for seeing that the best information is made available to the meteorologists, that levees and seawalls are in good repairs, that possible shelter  sites are stocked with cots, food and other supplies.

Hurricanes are extremely dangerous. It takes a cooperative effort by all levels of government and by the citizens to stay safe. No one wants to leave their home. But if the order to evacuate if given, you should heed it as soon as possible. Losing possessions that are insured is one thing. Losing your life or a loved one is something entirely different.

You are responsible for the safety of your family. Some agencies and organizations did their roles to warn and educate you, so it is your obligation to be prepared and brought your family in a safe and secured place.

Follow weather forecast on routine basis if you stay in an area prone to natural disasters like earthquakes or floods or tsunami. These will keep you informed about any changes in the coming 24 hrs. Make sure your kids and family knows the dos and do nots at the time of a natural calamity.
Perform practice drills to evacuate from home, also keeping food and other things stocked will help you at tough times.
    Keep yourself safe.
