I recently heard a personal fitness trainer make the comment- "compound exercises make you bulky". Before I write a hub on this topic, I wanted to see what people thought about this perspective on compound exercises. Please comment below.

I agree Ingar Filinn, compound exercises are best for momentarily improving circulation and all that goes along with that, but what about becoming bulky?
If the muscle tissue gets more nutrients and less build up of lactic acid(caused by poor circulation) it allows them to repair faster and get bigger- giving you pure muscular bulk and not just a layer of fat over muscle
rodney80- bulk means thick, undefined and even chunky. I agree with your comment on squats and deadlifts- these are two primary movements that shouldn't be ignored.
