I looked up the meaning of the word "optimal" in the dictionary and apparently it is a word which originated from biology. It translates into "most favorable" and the word has been around since 1890, can you believe that? In my own words, optimal health would mean very healthy then.
Luckily, at my age I can say that I have optimal health, in fact, I haven't used my health card since 2004. When I lived in Toronto, I didn't have to pay for health insurance, but since I have been in Vancouver since 2007, I have had to pay for my health coverage. To think that I have never used the card except for immunizations against the flu, hepatitis, etc.
Yes, I'm shelling all those bucks monthly for a health card I hardly use, but you never know, right? Besides, I should be thankful for my clean bill of health. I got immunized against the flu for the first time in 2012, but guess what, I just recovered about two weeks ago from the nastiest flu I have ever had. Honestly, I thought it was not going away. I did everything to recover, took lots of Neocitran, vitamin C and Ibuprofen when needed.
Finally, I was lucky to get a six-day off from work and during all that time, I just slept and slept; and that did it. Now I'm back, as bouncy as ever. So if you ask me what optimal health means, I have to say that it is everything to me. It's like a breath of fresh air, or smelling the flowers in the morning. Thank you Jesus for giving me the gift of health, it is definitely more than wealth; it's funny how you only have to change the word from "h" to "w".
Why, Steve Jobs of Apple and iPad/iPhone fame had millions maybe billions but even all that was not enough to win against cancer. He finally gave up the fight. I still feel sad about his passing, he was a great big idol of mine. So me, I thank God endlessly that I am alive and kicking!
