How do I motivate my girlfriend to start exercising?

It's not like I want my girlfriend to lose weight or that I want her to get more fit for me, my girlfriend is hot, it's just that I think it would be good for her to exercise and get some muscles.
It feels like I tried everything to motivate her, I need some help!

When she says - does this make my backside look fat, you say no, it's your fat arse that does it.

I'll answer from a girlfriend's point of view smile
Loosing weight can be a delicate topic for women (not everyone of course, but it happens even for the ones with lots of confidence and mind strength).
My partner has always tried to motivate me to exercise and what works best for me is when he says something like:
    1. Let's go gym together
    2. let's start this training together (sometimes we away from each other in different countries, so together is not always physically together, more of starting the 'projects' at the same time and motivating each other)

Then maybe just having discussions my help. Find out why she may not want to exercise and try help her with those motives.
    I hope this helps smile

I'm not really a fan of muscles showing on a girl, but to tone up you could both join a sporting group together, such as taking Tennis or Squash lessons, or it could be just as easy to go for an evening walk or jog together, taking in your local sites... That could be romantic for both of you too.

Have you asked her to take a walk with you on the beach or in the park on a nice day or evening? Aside from asking her to join you, there really is not much you can do to motivate someone else to start doing something such as exercising. This must come from within.

If I were her, I wouldn't want you to make any reference to my weight at all.

    Don't give/gift me books about losing weight. Don't give/gift me a scale.

Don't show me pictures of how small I used to be, or how small someone else is.

Don't try to pick me up.

And if I ask you to quantify how much weight I need to lose, lie. Better yet, don't answer at all.

Just ease me into activities that require being more active. You lead as example.

It's not about being fat or weight. It's about having a healthy body. Talking about your health and your body is something natural and I think it's a bad idea to be so negative to even discuss the topic.
