Doctors agree and I support homemade chicken soup as the best "brew" recipe for colds and flus. In a stock pot filled with about 3-4 quarts of water boil 4-chicken thighs, a couple of stalks of celery, three carrots, 1-onion, 3-parsnips, couple of stalks of parsley, 1 Tbsp garlic powder, salt and pepper (to taste). Skim off any fat and boil ever so slowly over a couple of hours. Not only will your house "sing" with the smell of soup, but your insides will say "thank you." Refrigerate and eat the next day and the flavors will be even better.
P.S. I also like to add a couple of cherry tomatoes, some large homemade noodles and a little drizzle of high quality virgin olive oil. Yummy!
P.S.S. There is a whole science about why chicken soup is so good for you, but I cannot place any links here. Just Google :)
