How to deal with the pain of a migraine

I have suffered from chronic migraines since I was 12 years old and I am so sick of being in pain. I was just wondering if anyone else out there has have had to deal with this kind of pain and if there is anything I can do to help myself. I cant take narcotics anymore because I am in recovery anything you can say to lead me in the right direction to help myself would be greatly appreciated.

    this method works for me
and hope you will also get benefit from this

Drink water up to your neck, than vomit all that in this way you are cleaning your stomach
after that take an apple and any head ache medicine that you usualy take and have rest, you will definitely get relief.

The natural supplements for migraine are butterbur, and feverfew. As I don't suffer from them I cannot attest to their effectiveness. I do have arthritis pain, and take Tumeric. It might be an option for pain.
Dr T discusses migraines in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z11OLMOosJo
Butterbur, as well as his book real cause real cure is available through Amazon.http://www.amazon.com/Enzymatic-Therapy-Petadolex-60-Softgels/dp/B0013OQCWW/ref=sr_1_7?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1366638799&sr=1-7&keywords=butterbur
I have used, and recommended his supplements, and protocols in numerous applications, and illnesses. All of which really do work. An excellent holistic doctor.
Holistic protocol always digs for the underlying cause of any illnesses.
Reasons for headaches, can include decline in eyesight, allergies, usually with food, or additives, hormonal problems, and nutrient deficiency as well. Among the additives that cause headaches include Aspertame, and its derivatives, as well as MSG, check food labels, may be the cause.
Keeping a food Diary, or symptom diary may uncover the cause. When do the headaches start? After a certain food is eaten, or somewhere in your monthly cycle? After reading, or watching Tv? Times of High stress? You might be surprised what you find.
I hope this helps. My sister suffers from migraines, I know how painful they can be.

I suffer from migraines as well especially during periods of stress during exams or work.

For me, neck stretching exercises such as yoga helps to alleviate the pain, it was something I found out after a trip to the chiropractor that my migraines were tension induced due to incorrect posture and my neck has develop 'pressure balls' so stretching it out helps a lot.

Then, I will vary my diet, to eat more cleanly, more detox, veggies, fish and less meat protein plus more vitamins. I try to reduce pain killers where possible as well:)
