The German proverb gets a nod from me. I do believe this and quite honestly, it makes simple common sense....don't you think?
It also makes health sense that the FIRST meal of the day, would be very important. We most often awaken with an empty stomach (hungry) and a need for a kick-start (energy) to get the body moving.
Breakfast does not have to be anything big or complicated.....a nutritional shake, a piece of fresh fruit, or even a bowl of healthy cereal, is fine. Personally, I LIKE breakfast and take the time to enjoy it.....along with my endless cup of freshly-brewed COFFEE (the nectar of the gods! LOL)......
"Breakfast" is like a little ceremony for me, signaling that I am awake, ready and raring to go.....It's a renewal to welcome a new day. It also guards against mid-morning stomach grumblings, fatigue and the mad dash to find something, ANYTHING to chew and swallow! This is usually whatever is available and quick, which equals.....junk food, empty calories and/or KILLER fast food!!
So.....to answer your question, specifically.....Yes, for these reasons, I guess I would call Breakfast, the most important meal.
One final comment.....I'm also in the habit of stopping my food clock at 4pm! Nothing further, but liquid, after 4.....no snacks, no "late meals" or treats. Of course there are exceptions....but just as a rule.
Great question, Wasteless..........Wasteless??? What kind of a handle is that? I don't believe it....lol
