I've heard of people attempting to quit. But I honestly don't think it changes the behavior because they still are being exposed to nicotine and other chemicals. I feel like there are better approaches than something that essentially is a toned down version of smoking.

THAT IS NOT QUITTING!  You are still smoking - only it's vaporized nicotine.  You are still addicted to nicotine.  If some said, I'm quitting meth and started popping pseudophed all day, did they really quit?  The real question is how will you conquer your addiction to nicotine.  All a cigarette is (tobacco or electronic) is a delivery device for nicotine.  The patch, the gum, a lozenge.  The same.  At some point you will have face that.  If you truly want to quit, it will require the right mental disposition and a connection with a purpose greater than yourself.

      David R Bradley,
I started smoking the e-cig and quit the seven regular packs a week I smoked. The e-cigs can be put down, and don't have to be put out. This led me to smoke less and less, until I quit.
      Thank you,
      Lisa

    My partner for one.
All E-cigs are not created equal.  Not all have nicotine - my partner used ones that were nicotine free - just flavoured. It was more for something to do - which is half the problem with quitting - you smoke at times you are doing something specific like talking on the phone, etc.

I'm not smoker, nor have I ever been (excuse: my mother (even aged 30) is too scary!hahahaha), so I don't know what it's like to give up - but I think we should support them and whatever method is their choice, rather than dump on them.

Support helps to quit, not condemnation
