When was the last time you amazed yourself?

In our lives we often have embarrassing moments where we look back and say "ouch". However many of us never have those amazingly awesome moments we look at something we did and say "wow!". Whatever it is, have you ever stood back and looked at your handiwork, or a moment in your life and say, "Wow, did I really do that!" Have you ever really amazed yourself?

Two things come to mind immediately, both of which have earned compliments from strangers with no reason to fluff my ego.
The first was doing a good enough job rebuilding a 40 year-old sailboat that strangers walking the docks have said things like, "40 years?! She doesn't look 4 years old!"  (If you want to see her, check out my profile page.  And I did a video on YouTube, "Rebuilding a Sailboat (an Albin Vega): 3 Years in 3 Minutes" that's gotten some nice comments.)
The second was creating something for people who like to nap, people who get teased about taking naps, and people who like to tease other people about taking naps: my book and website Napism.Info.  Yes, it is a new world religion, and yes, I am The Dalai Napa!  No, it is not going to change the world, but apparently it is making people laugh, and that's always a good addition to MY world.  A big part of my satisfaction with it is knowing that I could have dismissed it all as just another beer-inspired idea, but no, I made it happen.  So I went from taking a nap to being on Amazon - kinda amazing, to me, at least.

Wow, some achievements here. Boosting our own egos is never a bad thing once in a while!

I'd have to say that it would be the day I published my book. I still feel that way today .... Wow, I really did it.
