How can I lower my blood pressure naturally?

Are there any home remedies, foods, or natural supplements that can lower my blood pressure safely?

Meditation and exercise work wonders! Try a "singing bowl" for a unique meditation/relaxation experience.

Also, learn how to breathe correctly to lower stress and keep that blood pressure down (Google it).

Proper posture helps, too, believe it or not--it helps you breathe better and keeps your organs in shape and muscles toned for optimal breathing. With proper oxygen, your body will work wonders for you!

Also, reduce your salt intake for a quick way to lower your blood pressure.

"Natural" supplements are scary--they are non-FDA-approved drugs. Beware! Plenty of "natural" things can actually kill you--radon, carbon monoxide, mercury, lead, excessive alcohol intake... I'd recommend avoiding supplements. Eat well and exercise and you shouldn't need them anyway unless prescribed by a doctor.

Eat foods high in potassium such as avocados and bananas. Some people with high blood pressure eat bananas twice a day. There's different ways of eating avocados: in sandwiches or as guacamole. Also recipes with bananas in them are a great idea such as banana pudding.

try not to think or stress over problems, your blood pressure will shoot up. Take note that 6am-7am and 5-7pm are the most crucial time for blood pressure to shoot up. During these time, try to relax, avoid doing anything. Food wise, avoid salty food, chunks of meat, go vegetarian is the best. My dad has bp; 170 / 80

I just ran across an article recently that has numerous suggestions, based on recent clinical trials. Among them are celery, works within one week. Olive leaf extract, 500mg twice a day, showed excellent results. Hawthorn berry, garlic, onion, carrot, as well as radish showed some improvement, as well as mistletoe but probably hard to find. If you are taking a blood pressure med, check your BP often, because combining herbs with low blood pressure meds may lower it too much.

The article about herbs to lower BP:

Good results have been reported with Hawthorn from consumers. Garlic, which has been marketed as a wonder herb for BP, shown modest results.
    hope this helps.
