I need to get to that point where it becomes 2nd nature. I'm on & off w/ it as I allow myself to get so wrapped up in day to day stuff that I forget. When I do it tho I feel so much more calm and happier.
Brenda....I hope it is encouraging for you to know that "blocking the world out".....becomes an easy move after a while of practice. Be "calm" and accept that you won't see perfection and that's OK....just keep going.
I need to spend more time in nature; I've heard that is the best place to meditate.
Turning off my mind & not thinking is one of the most challenging things for me. As I'm sure it is for a lot of people.
Another quick tip for you mate, is no more multi tasking..Only do one thing at a time, & concentrate on the one thing only ..For example when ironing etc, do it with no music or T.V playing..Also no music whilst driving, just takes practice &
Don't 'turn it off' simply make it calm and vacant, or let it fall still. In the beginning you will get resistance. However, persevere! Try not to 'fight' the mind. Use aids like breathing, music, lofty books and song, as well as visualisa.
