How to be a bit happy? I'm going through a lot of hardship.
I am actually working on a hub about this right now, but it may be a week or so before I get to it as my daughter is home from school for summer break.
So here it is in a nutshell: Choose. Ironically, it IS that simple. You just have to make a conscious effort to keep choosing happiness. Life is hard; it never gets easier, but it's also short. So how do you want to spend it? If you're unhappy, it is because you are choosing to be. You're "getting something out of it" (i.e., sympathy, attention, etc.). If you want to be happy, then just do it! Get out and enjoy life... Go to a movie, ride a bike, hang out with friends and SMILE!
Your choice! ;-)
Thank you so much for the answer. Helped a lot. I'm eagerly waiting for your hub regarding the same.
Sometimes I find it helpful to think about people who have terrible disabilities or who are going through much more difficult situations than my own. If you think hard, inevitably you will think of many people who you may or may not know who are worse off than you. This helps me remember all the things I CAN do and all the things I have in life that make me happy. Hope it helps you.
Yes, I sometimes do that. Think of people with no home, people suffering from poverty, people losing their family in disasters,Then I realise that I have a roof above my head, I have a family, that makes me luckier than 60% of the world's population.
Since there's no info on your profile page about your history, interests, plans for writing at HP, etc. you could take some time to fill in your bio and include positive things that have happened in your life.
Haha, I just joined hub pages a couple of hours back and that too from a mobile device hence the system didn't allow me to edit my profile much. I will be updating my profile soon, let's see if I'm able to keep myself busy with it. Thanks for your
There are a lot of good suggestions here. "Hardships" in all different sorts and degrees can be overwhelming-- you need to seek outside help for whatever specific problems you are facing.
Also, as others have suggested, start by counting your blessings and all of the positives you can think of in your life. Good luck.
Everything depends on thoughts. If you have certain problems, it's best to search for the solution as soon as possible. Someone else has had that problem, find out what they did to solve it. If it is just a state of mind, you can easily drop it by returning to the present moment. The past is an illusion of memories. Don't torture yourself with things that no longer exist. In the present, nothing is happening. Try to stay in the now. Another method is to start affirming, "I feel happy" over and over. Don't take yourself, anybody or anything too seriously. Life is a comedy. When you start laughing, joy will take over your being. The next thing is to be emotionally detached from experiences. They come and go. Don't cling to them or keep reviewing them. Do not be attached to the behavior or moods of others. Let them have their own bad moods, while you abide in your own happiness. Everything is a state of mind. You don't have to feel bad just because there is a problem. It is actually an opportunity to grow and to solve it. And lastly, find good books on techniques for solving major or minor problems. There are thousands at Amazon.
I'd like to share a simple techniques:
1. Sit straight ( spine straight) - but not uncomfortable
2. Take in and exhale out.a few deep breaths .
3. Smile ( force yourself, even if you don't want to)
Do like this for 5 - 10 minutes 2 - 4 times a day.
You will notice the difference. In other words, change your physiology to change your psychology. Now from the empowered state of mind think about the problem objectively and your mind will give you the answer - "how to be happy"
Simple - isn't it!

How do you cope with feeling your life turned out all wrong?I know the common strategies for general coping - thinking positively, being grateful, believing that "It's never too late to be what you might have been," going to counseling, and on and on. But at those moments when you...

Can too much money make you unhappy? You hear some awful stories about people who win the lottery or who have lots of money but nothing seems to go right for them. While this may not apply to everyone with money,do you think if you had a lot of money it would make you unhappy?

It has taken me a couple of years and a lot of work, but I've finally come to a realization.I don't belong here. At least, my articles don't. Part of this realization comes of frustration and part of it comes from a now precipitously low reader count. Part of this is due to Google's new algorithm...
