Are you  more of a positive person?

People have positive thoughts and negative thoughts. When you choose to stick to the more positive side you have a better way of thinking. The negative side does take you down. Which one are you?

I practice being relaxed and thinking positive thoughts. So I am more of a positive person. Negative thoughts are not usually very useful and they make me feel bad. Positive thoughts are usually useful. They make me feel good and they help me accomplish more. If a negative thought pops up I replace it with a positive one.

Now I can say I am more of a positive person but I wasn't always that way. I used to be more negative when I was younger, even as a kid. I used to worry a lot and was afraid of a lot of things. I started to change when I was in college after reading a lot of personal development materials and taking a few courses. I am really grateful for the teachers who have helped me.

Absolutely. I am surrounded by very pessimistic people and I also work in a nursing home. My job is that of a Recreation Director so I plan all the wonderful and fun programs for my residents. I always try to look on the bright side of things. I am always there when my residents are feeling down and get them to smile. My job brings me so much joy to see the residents/patients smile and have fun. We had our monthly birthday party on Friday and it was great! Everyone including patients, residents, staff and family members left with a smile. Later the residents told me how much fun I have made the parties and programs since I started May 5th of this year. Unfortunately there are many family members in my life that are unhappy and struggling with depression and medical problems, so in my personal life it is not always easy to stay positive when you are surrounded by such sorrow. I am glad I have a job where I can bring joy to others and receive joy as well.

When you have a certain amount of  good thoughts or ideas to make the situation a  positive one like you  have here. It can make some difference to your life.  I try to  remain positive with  my own mind.  Thank you for sharing your experience.
