So far around 4,000 West Africans have died, and it has made an accidental appearance in America. Ebola is very dangerous to the world if it spreads beyond it's present locale. Presently the rate of infection is, each infected person is infecting two more people, which is causing the disease to grow and spread.
The practices of handling and burying the dead is one of the primary ways Ebola has been spreading. Sanitation and health standards are very low in the countries where Ebola has become an epidemic. If Ebola were to spread to South or Central America, where sanitation and health standards are similar, it might be almost impossible to eradicate. Ebola would probably spread across the border into Mexico and then north into America.
Health workers from America are very brave to travel to these places to offer medical and humanitarian aid. It is a very dangerous job, and the risk of infection is frightening.
