   As long as one has a back bone, back pain is also bound to come; as long as one has head, headaches are bound to come!

   But show some empathy. Would you like this response for your parents if they ask this question?
   
   Back pain has many causes. A few I know. The stress of the adrenals or other parts of the kidney can cause it. Heavy lifting or pounding of the streets, like a marathoner. A job involving many aspects of crouching like building site contracting. Nervous problems. Sciatica which relates to lifting resulting in scoliosis and narrowing of the spinal column, along with degeneration.
   
   Lack of Vit D and other forms of degeneration due to calcium deposits like arthritis, osteoarthritis. lack of minerals also plays a part.
   
   See an Applied kinesiologist, followed by a chiropractor. You may also need to see a GP for blood tests and an MRI. This will give a true pic of your level of  degeneration. Check your D levels, and avoid frequent sex, if that's an issue. You may need neuro-muscular exercise and nutrition to strengthen your kidney and immune system.
   
   Take anti-inflamatory's and analgesia if really bad and finally an epidural if you are having frequent pains and cramping that shoots down the legs. This would be a decision for you and the docs. Drink plenty of water and eat well. Reduce where you can, the stressors in your life.

   The main  cause of lumbago is not always obvious or easy to identify, even after medical investigations or tests.
   
   The lumbar region, or lower back, has the responsibility of bearing a considerable amount of the body’s weight, and it does so whilst allowing a wide degree of free movement at our waist. These forces can sometimes be too much for the structures, such as the muscles, ligaments and tendons, supporting us. Most often, lumbago arises as a result of a mechanical problem in the joints and muscles of our lower back. This basically means some form of disruption to the way joints in the area work, leading to inflammation and pain. This non-specific term also means that science still does not know precisely why these problems occur.
   
   Sometimes, lumbago can come about as a result of ‘wear and tear’ of the joints of the lower back or some other form of degeneration of joint surfaces as a result of ‘overwork or overuse’. This is sometimes referred to as rheumatism and is more likely to occur in older people.
   
   Other causes of low back pain are less common. These include rheumatoid arthritis, infections, assorted bone disorders and cancer.
