I had a tooth pulled and the dentist sent me home with a sheet detailing "Care Instructions". Under the First 48-Hours After Surgery list, however, instructions Number 2 and 3 appear a wee bit contradictory: #2. DO NOT SPIT, GARGLE OR SWISH ANY LIQUID! #3: Be sure to brush teeth regularly using a mild toothpaste while avoiding the side of mouth surgery was performed. So, my question: exactly how am I supposed to brush my teeth without spitting or swishing with water? I just can't see leaving toothpaste in my mouth a very comfortable or practical scenario!
