As a raw food activist and someone that believes that disease is caused by an inbalance in our body's pH (usually being too acidic), I was very excited to see the results of 6 Diabetics who followed a completely raw diet for 30 days. Every single one of them cured themselves of diabetes. Many people will unfortunately discount this but even the medical professionals who were treating these individuals were inspired by the results.

Time and time again studies are showing how the toxic, processed, foods that the majority of the western world eat is making our bodies sick.
I really hope that more scientific studies on healthy foods that are raw and alkalizing are conducted on adults and children that are:
suffering from mental health problems
...and children who have behavioural problems
As far too many medical problems that we have in society are linked to the way we process our foods and the lack of essential nutrients that we should be getting from living foods.
So really, to avoid diabetes you need to eliminate sugars and processed foods from your diet. If you can't eliminate these foods altogether then at least eating a diet full of raw and alkalizing foods 75% of the time will do a lot of good for your body and still give you a great chance of preventing diabetes and other diseases.
Tip: drink 1 litre of alkalizing water for every 30lbs of your body weight to energize all the cells in your body and flush out toxins that contribute to ill health.
