I was on a flight once and the captain came on and said to prepare for some mild turbulence. It was a beautiful crystal clear day and so I didn't think much of it. The next thing you know the attendants quickly run to the back and strap themselves into their seats and the next several minutes we were banged around, I was in a window seat and hit my head against the side, my hand got pinched between the arm and the wall - people were screaming, I felt the plane drop a couple of times. Everyone on board thought the plane was crashing or coming apart... it was much more than "mild turbulence" It was horrible. I called my family in tears from the Newark layover airport and told them to drive out and get me LOL. Of course they didn't, so I had to get on the next plane and fly to St. Louis and I was white knuckled the whole ride home and have never flown since.
