Honestly I have medication for that. That is a last resort. What works best as an alternative for me is;
A session of 'mindfulness' to quiet myself and recognize myself
I place with both hands my middle finger and thumb together. When I ran distance races and once a marathon I was coached when those two fingers are together we naturally relax. Works for me.
I concentrate on my breathing. I inhale as deep as possible and exhale as slowly as possible. I find where discomfort begins for each and then back away a notch where comfort is. I do not count. I focus on the process.
Then, I wake up and it is morning, later in the afternoon or evening, and at times the alarm clock went off.
