Brandon, Sounds to me that you have a fairly good handle on your recipe for handling stress. If it works well for you, keep doing what you do.
At this point in my life, and for the past 13 years or so, I have gained the experience, wisdom and patience to be proactive where stress is concerned, At any time possible and in every way I have learned, I consciously AVOID stress. Believe me when I tell you that at a particular point in our life, we come to the common sense realization that 90% of what may have put us into a tizzy of concern and anxiety, is a total waste of time and precious energy.
While a lot of this just "happens" as a matter of natural progression, what may convince us best is the realization that in any and all issues and/or situations which may arise, the outcome is pretty much the same or better than had we stressed for days. There is much to be said about "All things working out well in the end" A big mantra for me is, "This too shall pass." At any given moment, "All things are as they should be."
You may need to make the effort to learn the fine art of literally putting things "out of your head." Once we have said and done all that as mere humans, we can do. After having analyzed the situation and used our best reasoning......that's all you should expect of yourself. There is no need nor sense to allowing something to consume us.
The moment I find myself becoming anxious or emotional about something a bit trying or unpleasant, I actually sit down with myself and jot down my thoughts....concerns and ideas for solution.
I then walk away from it all, busy myself with an activity I enjoy, place my trust in the Universe (many may refer it all to God)......and I comfort myself with the assurance that as each day passes, solutions present themselves. Because I know myself so well, if I find things have accelerated to out of control, I take a deep breath and TRY again to examine it all for new solutions.
STRESS is not our friend. It robs our health, joy and wreaks havoc on our attitude in general. We TRULY do have the power to not allow this to happen!...................Bless you and Good luck. Breathe deep, relax and SMILE (even when you don't want to)......Peace, Paula
