Did your health insurance under Obomacare (ACA) rise sharply this year?
Deductibles are what you pay out of pocket and the renewals are much higher this coming year. Will you be able to renew or go without insurance due to the cost?
Our plan through Obamacare is being discontinued so we must choose a new plan. In my state, Illinois, the list of available in-network doctors is extremely limited so our physicians are all out of network. The price has gone up ten percent, and we must have insurance because my son is in the middle of a corneal transplant. While many aspects of the program are great (access for all, coverage for preventive care) the cost is still simply too high. We don't qualify for a subsidy so what we have is no different that we had previously on the open market. Big disappointment.
I don't have health insurance through the ACA. However, my health plan under my employer (a Fortune 200 company) increased in cost and decreased in coverage as it does every year. Rising health care coverage isn't unique to plans under the ACA.
In fact, the plan I had under my employer was discontinued and I had to choose something different, so that's not unique to the ACA either.
My insurance company discontinued my plan, and wants to sell me a more expensive one. If I change companies, I may save money, and be able to keep my current doctor, who isn't part of the HMO my current company wants to stick me in.
There is nothing to be said about the ACA that I can say nicely. I have a COBRA from my old employer which is 2000 per month less than the Obama care equivalent. That said I have to travel 125 miles to see a doctor in a non emergency situation. My brother had his bill go from 400 a month to 1300 per month.
I hear horror stories from others. I believe Obama, Bart Stupack and anyone else who voted for this pig should be tried for treason!
If you think it is wonderful give me the 2000 bucks a month. I will think it is wonderful too.
Ironic it's called the "Affordable" Care Act. It's really anything but. It seems the only people who benefit are the insurance companies. Gross. Ours is $1333 but I can barely afford that. $2000 I drop insurance and go to the ER.
it doesn't sound like anyone is getting an "affordable" health plan...

Can anyone explain the Affordable Care Act to me?I was honestly going to make a Hub about this, asking this very question, and I had written 800 something words on the subject. Ok actually it's more like a mild rant, but I think this would be better as a Hubpages question rather than a Hub that no...
