We have three choices when things don't go the way 'our self-image mind' tells us they should be going. 1. We can take steps to change the event or happening. 2. We can move away from it. 3. We can accept it AS IT IS.
Grumbling and complaining won't help. Our negative reactions and identifying with our unpleasant feeling won't help. If we can't do either of the first two, then we need to learn to accept it as it is. We cannot change what is at this moment. We can change the way we 'look at' or 'interpret' the way it is. By changing ourselves (our belief or opinion on the matter) we change our reaction to it.
