I am 'thriving,' if you put it that way. But then again, I turned eighty yesterday so have a lot of years I can compare my present moment with. The secret is to have a Life Philosophy that is acceptable to the three aspects of who we all are: body, mind and spirit, and to realize that it is the last of these that is the only one that is not changing. The same 'Me' was around at two years of age and will be around at eighty-two (assuming my body will continue to sustain the 'life' what is Me until then)
Don't get caught up in the 'mind's beliefs,' and 'Cease to cherish opinions.' and you'll probably be able to say you're thriving, too.
