At this point a cancellation of the Olympics would probably result in riots which may kill more people, and a lawsuits which may bankrupt the IOC. However, I do think the water sports should seriously be moved. I saw the report on the water contamination levels and it was indeed scary. I also saw that the Brazilian government did not comply with the agreement to have 8 water treatment plants where the games are to occur. As such, they would not win a suit on there matter. Frankly, as upset as I am about Brazil and their lack of readiness for these games, I am more upset at the IOC. The IOC and FIFA, both based out of Switzerland, have been shown to take athletic corruption to levels thought unimaginable. How they reviewed Brazil and thought it could possibly be a ready site is ridiculous. The Olympics needs to work on have 4-6 permanent summer/winter venues so that countries are not bleeding coffers dry building Olympic cities that may or may not be used afterwards. Country has Favela slums all over the place and scream they don't have money to fix them, but when an Olympics is on the line then all of the sudden billions of dollars are available for stadiums, buildings, police, etc.
