The flu shot is never correctly done it is claimed for they cannot possibly know what strain of flu will be coming but I heard today they are going to force people to take this or not cover them. I never get the flu shot & I never get the flu (well over 10 years) & it would not seem right to me to be forced into getting one. Have you heard this and whether or not, what do you think? Would this bother you and would you fight against such a ruling?

Thank you for that information!
I am sure hoping it is not true too. I guess I am just paranoid but I don't like the idea anyone can force whatever they want into my body without my permission. Another form of rape if you ask me!
My attorney friend who handles fraud cases said that most insurance and Medicare fraud comes from double and triple billing for the same med tests and x-rays by the testing company, the reading company, and the doctor.
They should fine them when this happens and maybe it would stop; you know they know better than to have it happen that often but apparently they are getting by with so much.
I know! Me too I have never had one but they made my mom sick every year when she got one and she had bronchitis so bad she would be sick for weeks but they made her anyway! Always made me so mad but she did whatever her doctors thought best!!
I heard a nurse say it at FB and I hope it is wrong but trying to find out!
Sure hope you are right and it never comes to that.
Thanks for your contribution. Makes a lot of sense. I basically watch germs....lol...or wash them.

My mother got bronchitis almost every year right after flu shot along with the flu. that is why I do not get it. I have my own ways to prevent it & has worked over 10 years. The very best thing is to not eat at any restaurants that handle food.
Or go to health food stores. A few years ago I had the flu. I went to a health food store to buy some soy milk. Clerk said he'd just gotten over the flu but he wasn't contagious. Yep, he was, and I'd had my shot. Cost me 2 weeks in bed.
True & answer there is never leave a place you have handled things without hand sanitizer. I keep small containers in my purse but mostly use large one when I get in my car before I touch anything there. Even smear a little on steering wheel.
Glad to hear it is not for the everyday Joe...yet. Thanks~
Great points Tamara. Maybe even one of those pretexts to terminate. Older employees and high paid ones had better be careful.
My point exactly .I trust not government for sure. We know they many would prefer we drop dead as soon as possible before medicare although I am not sure why since the plan now is to give it to illegals who have certainly never paid into it.
I was working in a nursing home when I got that flu shot. Then when I contracted tonsillitis, they wouldn't let me take time off. When I asked about putting the residents at risk, I was told to wear a mask. So much for being concerned about them!
I read a medical person talking about it at FB and she sure sounded believable but maybe I misunderstood and it was just the medical personnel? I will add anything I find out. I am totally against it myself and already shot do some serious damage.
Yes Jackie I know that hospital personnel are often required to take it. Don't know exceptions or circumstances though. I will ask when I go in for my oncology exam and CT. I would venture that oncology folks do have to take one.
"Yuck, minor sickness for two days." Eric, do you mean from the vaccine. or from the flu? Please read my comment.
I knew a woman personally, a book customer of mine years ago that was paralyzed from a flu shot and almost died. That was pretty scary too to make me think twice. I watched her for a couple of years trying to recuperate & never completely.
Miz, I just read your comment, nicely done. Oh for sure my few or less days is a reaction to the shot. Made me think. I have not had the flu in well over a decade - maybe 20 years. Shot every season - compromised immune system & small child in ho
Thanks, Eric. I heard there were 3 or 4 different shots given this year. We must have been given the "Big Mama" shot to get the reaction we did. That's the one that covered the most strains.
I actually had two this year - strange. My doc said the drugstore one was faulty for only covering one strain. As I think about it they also give me one for pneumococcus I think. I am a pin cushion both in and out. My son says my habits keep me well
Funny, Eric. My husband got his flu shot, and the doctor wrote him a presc. for Prevnar13 because his last two pneumonia shots didn't cover what it does. He got the shots in the same arm and is still complaining of a sore arm after 2 or 3 weeks.
I do get a pneumonia shot but I have been under the weather and not wanting to get it while I feel this way. They never push me to get that one. Seems much more important for us getting older and that is such a killer.
Just was looking. Again with exceptions for like Homeless children and foster care students. There are nine diseases for which a California 1st grader must have a vaccine or several before attending. I surely believe some insurances would require it.
I don't know, it isn't quite like measles or something sure, they do have to guess at it. Who knows what one day they may put in it?
We have nearly 600 cases of mumps in my state right now because people aren't getting their kids vacs. I never had the mumps, not even when my siblings and my kids had them. I hope I'm still immune.
You may want to check that out MizB, have you been immunized? U may need a new one. I had them along with my 4 younger brothers. Remember so well. A miserably time but babied all through it with good food!
So funny Jackie -- we had 1 child out of six get chickenpox. My dad made sure we all got infected under controlled circumstances. He's the Doctor. I had a blast with all of us stuck in the house like the Cat in The Hat.
Yeah Eric, those brothers & I had about everything there was to get I believe. Always lived in the boonies so I guess we picked it up at school! Mom & Dad were always so concerned we always got special treatment. Only time Dad was demonstrat
A co-worker's family used to bring all their kids around when someone got chicken pox, so they'd catch it and get it over with. Another co-worker didn't do that; her kids got it one after the other. She'd used up her sick/vacation days, so can't b th
The way it goes Yoleen. lol
I was going to say, she was forced to leave each child home alone because she had used up all her sick and vacation days for that year. She told me she never forgave the relative whose child had infected them.
I am very interested in this, as my Father was a Public Health expert. Here is as close as I can find "Taking a page from California's flu shot policy, almost all of Kaiser Permanente's 105000 hospital employees nationwide will be required to get ...
I kind of see that being workers around ppl, I worked as receptionist in hosp years ago & had 2 get hepatitis shot in 2 parts & first one had horrible affect on me & I went on to something else about that time 4 I think it may have killed
