I suppose it really depend on the circumstances.
I may be in the minority but here but I am in favor of euthanasia for people suffering from an incurable and painful disease or in an irreversible coma. In fact I have my own DNR on file just in case.
Having said that people who are physically healthy only consider suicide when they're depressed/unhappy with events in their life.
They're viewing a momentary issue/circumstance as lifetime hell.
I would try to remind them that whatever they are going through is just one page or one chapter in their book of life.
Nothing lasts forever including bad times.
Look for examples of people who've overcome similar challenges.
Find a new dream to pursue & see the nuggets of humor in failure.
Always have something on your calendar to look forward to.
The world may not owe you anything but you owe yourself the world!
