I have been on Soboxone since July 2008. I started on 8mg once a day. I am now being tapered...
down and recently started taking 2mg once a day. I have noticed that I am starting to have some of the same pain issues that I had that caused me to start abusing opiates. I had back surgery in 2007 and I have been diagnosed with chronic back pain that I will have the rest of my life. My question is, is should I continue the taper or just stop taking the Suboxone all together. Will the withdrawal symptoms be the same either way? What do I do when the Suboxone is out of my system? How do I control my pain and not get myself back into the same situation I was in years ago?
How have you fared?
Suboxone can be hell to get off of, something that seems to be a little too hush-hush for my comfort with the drug. While there is less potential for abuse(they say) suboxone withdrawal is far worse than any other opiate medication aside from Methadone...which is so pathetic an option I won't even mention it.
Most people end up having to use other opiates to get off the suboxone because the withdrawal phase is so long. I'm sure it's all relative to the dose your on though.
best of luck & Maybe try Medical Marijuana if your state allows
Try the pain pump implant! I don't think I could function with a normal lifestyle without the pain pump implant. I tried all the Opiates and the Suboxone. I got so nausea that I just couldn't take it after 12years, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. If you want to know more about the pain pump I will make a Hub about it next time. Thanks, Robbi (Maria)
