   Hi guys
   I have articles marked as duplicate content which of course they are. All the articles...
   
   I have in hub pages are from one of my article sites and I add them here with a back link to the site where the full article appears.
   
   Is that classified as duplicate?.....I use the same formula in Squidoo and am not flagged as duplicate.
   Advice please.

   A good rule of thumb Peter is to not duplicate published online articles (even if you're the original author). The reason for this is that it affects your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) ratings in a negative manner. Every search engine (Yahoo, Google, Bing, etc...) sends out crawlers to categorize your articles by keywords, relevance and content, and if they find multiples of the same article, they won't classify it as original causing it to fall lower in the search engines. The lower your search ratings, the less likely your article will be to be read. Hubpages has built in a "duplicate article" feature that alerts the author that his/her article is in danger of falling lower in the search engines. Hubpages encourages unique and informative articles and tries hard not to be inundated with spam, so for this reason they discourage submitting the same article to multiple sources. Hope this helps!

   It is still a duplicate because it appears somewhere else on the web, but duplicate is separate from plagiarism. A duplicate hub doesn't get removed, but does incur a score penalty and, according to the TOS, if ALL you have are duplicates it could result in account review and possible termination. That said, I'm not sure what Hubpages thinks about backlinking from your article and not having the whole thing here, they may consider that overly promotional...I have duplicate hubs, but I never have backlinked from these but instead do backlinking and marketing campaigns for my articles on each site separately.

   Squidoo doesn't flag for duplicate content, which is why you don't see anything like that over there.
   
   Here you incur a score penalty as HubPages is actively discouraging such behavior.   Overall, the search engines don't like duplicated content so it's a bad idea all around.

   Search engines don't necessarily dislike duplicate content.  See Jon Leger's site and posts.  E.g, how about sites publishing the same news stories?  Hundreds, thousands of instances.
   
   My opinion is that HubPages wants to ensure that they will be the top site in the search results for a given keyword (keyphrase).  The may not necessarily be so, if the article is on other sites, also.  One or more of those sites may come out higher than HubPages in the search results for the same searcher query.

   The audience on the net is huge. If it´s my contect  surely I can put it where I want. Google, Amazon and the like offer links to Hubpages. Are they happy with this kind of discrimination. Are you suggesting I should take my content off Eblogger and
   Wordpress and only have it on Hubpages.
