Hi bruceg377, Provigil is commonly used for those who suffer from narcolepsy. (Sleeping at inappropriate times) It is also helpful for some people with MS in relieving extreme fatigue that results in spending many hours of the day asleep. This type of fatigue is unusual because sleeping does not provide a restoration of energy.
In my case, I do not spend countless hours asleep. My fatigue is disabling because it doesn't permit me to do anything requiring energy. Provigil was not helpful in my circumstance.
However, I did found this hub written by someone who was helped by Provigil. He doesn't have MS, but he does have a disease similar to MS.
