Consuming whole foods and avoiding processed and sugary foods.
I agree with the low-GI strategy. I eat a modified carb diet to manage my blood sugar. Whole fruit, vegetables, whole grains and legumes provide energy and satisfy the appetite.I consume protein with every meal and snack, in small quantities. I eat five to six times a day.
Reasonable fat intake helps too -- people have been gaining weight on low-fat processed foods. Having olive oil, nuts in moderation, dark chocolate, Greek yogurt, olives and avocado adds variety to my meals and satisfies my hunger. I've lost most of my freelancing weight gain -- over the winter, no less.
