   what is bilateral peritoneal spill
   
   in regards to the results of a hsg test the findings state that there is bilateral peritoneal spill.what does that mean i dont fully understand,please assist.

   Peritonitis is defined as inflammation of the peritoneum (the serous membrane which lines part of the abdominal cavity and some of the viscera it contains). It may be localised or generalised, generally has an acute course, and may depend on either infection (often due to rupture of a hollow viscus) or on a non-infectious process. Peritonitis generally represents a surgical emergency.
   
   sounds like you had an ovarian cyst that ruptured - and when you have an ultrasound (assuming this was an ultrasound, not an x-ray) - then you can see fluid within your pelvis - this is common and YES, you can get pregnant.

   Bilateral Peritoneal Spill means that both Fallopian tubes are good and there is no blockage.  it only means that the injected dye has passed thru the fallopian tubes and spil in the pelvic cavity.  it is possible only when both  Fallopian tubes are clear without any blockage. it is a good indication and the result of HSG is 100% +ve.  check other factors if you are not conceiving. Good Luck

   HSG with bilateral spill means that the tract from your uterus to both your fallopian tubes  is patent which is a positive report.It is done in the work up of women who are planning pregnancy .
