It really depends on what is causing the allergies. I would first recommend ensuring the dog is on a high quality dog food. Keep the treats and dog food the same brand to reduce an outbreak.
Also, consider that some dogs (no matter the breed) will have skin issues due to their color. Dilute colors, like fawn and blue will have more issues with their skin, especially in regards to demodex mange.
Keep in mind that using a medicated or an oatmeal shampoo to help keep the skin moisturized is a good idea, just make sure that you thoroughly wash out the soap.
And, as always contact your vet to figure out what is causing the allergies. It could be an ingredient in the dog food that is causing the irritation.
