The inner dialog is constant, like a pet or a relative that I've grown accustomed to. And it has good days and bad days.
The whole AA/NA axiom "one day at a time" revolves arround silencing the chattering monkey on your back. Which makes sense when you think about how many people drink to cope with obsessive-level stress. We take these institutions for granted, but they were founded on some incredible ingenuity. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, and I'm not trying to promote them (It's in the handbook that you shouldn't, which is awsome). I just know when it comes to self help, it's the best course that I know.
Off the subject; in short :I handle it like a reformed alcoholic. Acceptance of yourself works wonders for stress.
