Yes, weight training is meant to build muscle which could cause you to gain muscle weight. The walking and cardio exercises helps burn fat and calories. This hub could be helpful.          http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Lose-Bet … Two-Months

Most definetely, cardio is the key....if you lift weights, your muscles will get bigger, and then when you stop...you will get flabby.....cardio is the key

it's possible, but a better approach is to include a variety of forms of exercise including resistance training. Putting on some muscle helps to increase base metabolic rate, which means burning more calories, all the time.

From what I've heard, cardio is more effective than weight training for weight loss.

    cherry_pizza,

Thank you for your question, and I am glad to answer this one for you. Your name suggests that you love good food. Well, I love too. But, the important thing is to exercise portion control. Let me list 3 most important things for you to do so as to lose weight with just walking and cardio exercises.
    1) Walk and exercise regularly,45 minutes to an hour in the morning or evening. You can split the time into 2 sessions.
    2) Eat 3 small nutritiously dense meals. When hunger strikes, chew carrot sticks, or go for clear vegetable soup.
    3) Drink plenty of water.
    Good Luck!

    Hi  cherry_pizza ........
In my opinion est exercise is the combination of right exercise and right nutrition. Both of them will effectively help you to get your goal quickly, and will be more effective if supported by a best exercise machine.

If you need information about it, I have hubs about how to exercise right.

    Best regards...

Only cardio is not a key! If you want to have a nice shape of your body you have to weight train or at least bodyweight train.

Lets take this example: Fat woman who looks like a big plump starts training aerobics only, after a year she have lost 40 pounds, but she still looks like a plump except smaller. She has no shape! Why? Because she only did cardiovascular exercises.

Weight training or bodyweight training tone your muscles, defines a nice shape. Doing only cardio means loosing muscle tissue and body fat at the same time, so you will loose weight, but still look without curves. I would recommend doing cardio 3-4 times per week of 20-30 minutes session and 3 times per week weight/bodyweight training.

Besides that, you have to control your meal plan. 5-6 small meals during a day keep your metabolism rates high and in this way you burn more calories. Every meal should include complex carbs and protein. I am going to make a hub about good diet soon.

I hope my answer solved your problem. Feel free to ask again.

Cardio always helps for losing weight BUT building muscle helps keep it off. You don't necessarily have to bulk up, but add some toning exercises into your routine to build some muscle. Why? Muscle increases your resting metabolic rate, meaning that the more muscle you have, the better your body with burn calories when you're NOT working out. Also, keep in mind, muscle doesn't turn to fat and fat doesn't turn to muscle. As you use cardio to decrease your fat percentage, you can tone to increase your muscle storage while looking more "solid" and increasing your metabolism. You'll notice after a month or two of light weight training that it get's easier to keep the weight off! And obviously, a sensible diet always come hand in hand with working out to lose weight smile
