You really have to be aware of it. It's sort of like training yourself to be very receptive to it. Cause sometimes, even naturally, I am able to track what kind of brainwaves I am in, and see the blinking of lights (or frequency).
Like after jogging I notice that my perception is a bit faster in terms of frequency. I don't know if my comment made sense but I'm not really a psychologist or whatever and I don't know the proper words to use. Also, it's almost as if I can't even find the words to describe what I really mean.
But yeah, binaural beats can aid in inducing different states of mind.
