Life is full of choices and decisions some we will get right while we will make a complete Horlicks of others.
However I am glad we cannot simply jump backwards and forwards to amend what we may or may not have said or done. For to do so would mean entering the unimaginable and confusing world of 'Cause and Effect' where a decision you make or don’t as the case maybe links into the world of everyone around you.
Say for the sake of argument, one day while driving your car you accidently knock down and kill someone. Undoubtedly you may wish you could go back and maybe stay at home that day therefore the accident couldn’t happen. Now you have effected two lives, what if the person whose life you have not ended prematurely goes on to become the next Adolf Hitler....!
I agree it’s wonderful to play mental ‘What If’ games and I suppose like thousands of others there are things in my life I wish could have been different. My father made a decision that screwed up my entire education... Not his fault, he thought at the time he was doing the best for his family and yes his decision had many other positive effects upon us. I often ponder ‘What If !’
But there again if we had stayed where we were my life would not have taken the wonderful course it did and all the wonderful people I met and admire would still be strangers.
I think your question enters the realm of 'Be careful what you wish for....'
