What does it take to snap you out of a rut in your life?
Sometimes we just get in a pattern of doing the same things (good or bad) over and over again as part of our routine. Does it take a major catastrophic event to break out of a rut or just some introspection?
It takes ACTION!When we reach achievable daily goals, one step at a time, our focus changes. Focussing on INERTIA, or any negative idea about your life or yourself, creates more of that. Change the tape, and visualize the change that you seek! It's the journey, not the destination that's important!!Become a 'rut buster':-)
It can be both or neither. Sometimes it can be a feeling that arises that you need to do and experience something different. If you go with the feeling it can be very rewarding
I use introspection as my muse to re-fabricate my life. Waiting for a catastrophic event is a bit morbid.
If you are dissatisfied to where your life is going, write down a list of things that would make you happy, regardless of any outside considerations.
When you have your list, no matter how large or small, begin to think of ways to achieve them, and then start to do those things.
Look yourself in the mirror every day and say, "I can do it."
Do something immediately that makes you happy. Re-arrange the furniture in your house, re-organize the kitchen. Get a plant. Walk around your neighborhood and take pictures of places that mean something to you, or that you find interesting.
Define what it means for you to be happy.
You don't snap out of a rut, you drag yourself out with the very threads that hold you in this life. It's never easy but it's ALWAYS worth it.
You can do it!
You've got to stay positive and surround yourself with like minded people. Be around who you want to be like. So if you're in a runt, maybe you should change the crowd you're around for a while. Go hand out where people are happy and have positive things going on. That will almost always rub off on you and put you in a better mood even if life isn't giving you the best lemons. Most importantly keep your head up and always look on the bright side of life.
matter of fact check out that song

all the best!
In truth, it usually takes a drastic escalation of some symbolic significance to jar a person to change.
I believe It takes some introspection. I speak from my own experience, aswel as many who have come to me for prayer regarding this matter. There is process involved and every baby step counts. The quicker your out, the better. For those who have been in their rut for 12months more, usually are crashing into a down-ward spiral and no longer can identify that there in a rut, complacent and usually its the depression that they are faced to deal with. Most like to avoid change which of course is crucial at this point. I say, you really have to spend some time with yourself, get real, feel your pain for what it is, go beyond discomfort and start writing everything down, it helps to see it in front of you and out of your head and heart, if you know what i mean. Start connecting with your heart, what makes you feel good, what is it that you are dissatisfied and do the opposite, try something new, take a risk, go after your dreams once you find them, this will bring you alive, get you feeling some passion again. at times you may just need wake up, straighten your bed, brush your hair, say kind words to yourself as you look at yourself in the mirror, be thankful for that the things that you do have, and really go after the life you want. make a commitment to change, and i truelly believe in prayer!!!!- simple prayer has power to break loose all things that are holding you back or when your in a dead place. Prayer brings your spirit on fire, a new flow to your inner being like running waters(river), keep in mind we are both body and spirit, and we need to address both. I hope this has helped you in any way. God bless and a happy christmas to you:-)
