Yoga has become a million dollar, sensational industry, however I notice little focus on sensations. Feeling deep within, experiencing every sensation within the body with humility and awe has been replaced with so much performance driven pomp. We need to ‘come to our senses’ and re-discover the essence of being in our bodies, re-discover what it means to be here.
For me doing yoga is about holding one’s sacred space – to behold one’s divinity within the physical – unifying movement and breath with gentle, focussed, yet flexible, attention.
Being true to one’s nature and honoring one’s own individual process with conscious awareness, is a beautiful way to experience yoga.
I don’t care what you wear or what you do with your hair. I don’t care if you do twenty sun salutations or only two. What I care about is your intention and attitude.
If you’re going to drop into my class, drop in fully. Drop below the waves of your turbulent mind, drop into your depths where, like the deep, deep blue sea, it’s quiet, and connect with the whole, the holy. Be wholly here.
