5 Butt Exercises for Women for a Better Bum!

Updated on January 13, 2010

Butt Exercises for Women - What is the Difference?

Butt exercises for women are not really any different to that of men though the level of intensity may be toned down from the muscle building workouts guys go through for that athletic muscular bum.

Some women want the same muscled and toned behind but there are many who just want it slimmer and rounded in the classic feminine shape that has made them look sexy, feel sexy and draws men's eyes like magnets with their power.

Is that the sort of bum you want? I bet it is!

5 Butt Exercises for Women for a Sexy Feminine Bum!

1. Squats

If you read any of my other lenses you know i LOVE squats! There are not only a good exercise that targets your glutes but they also help with muscles all over the body. You can do these without weight but if you want to develop more muscle all over you can do them with weights depending on the type of bum you want to develop.

2. Lunges

Another exercise you do not need a gym for if you do not add any weights. Simply lung forward with a leg quite far then lower your trailing knee to the ground so your shin touches it then lift back up and swing that trailing leg forward to a new lunge dropping the other knee. You can walk around lunging like this for quite some time. Do not forget to squeeze your buttocks as you do this.

Adding weights in your hands will of course make lifting from the ground harder and provoke more muscle gain and toning.

3. Cross Legged Lungs

A variation of the regular lunge that activated a different set of bum and leg muscles. Stand up straight and when you lung bring your left or riht leg across your body instead of straight out in front. Drop your trailing knee to the floor again then step back and do the other leg across the body to the other side. This feels a little less comfortable and is a little harder to balance but you should feel a different pull on the muscles.

4. Cycling

Cycling is a good way to cardio and focus ont he legs and the bum and hip at the same time. IT is certainly better than jogging but the step machines at the gym are also an excellent choice to build up a sweat and firm your bum at the same time.

5. Step Ups

As mentioned before stepping machines are good for your legs and your bum as well but a much better way to target the butt more effectively is to do step up exercises. This is where you simply lift one of your feet onto a raised platform and then without any other help from your body or hands use the power of your legs and bum to propel your whole body up to stand on the platform.

The higher the platform the morer work you will be doing so a regular step will not do much but a rock or box that is knee high or preferably higher will get those glutes working!

Are Butt Exercises for Women Enough?

Now having muscles is a good thing. They look good and it gives a toned aspect to your body, stops drooping skin and makes you stronger and healthier. Butt exercises for women are therefore essential to creating a firm good looking bum. This will not help you entirely though as the next step is important if you find yourself heavier around the bum than other women.

Loosing fat and Boosting your metabolism.

Not just going on a diet, losing fat for the long term and keeping it off the areas that accumulate the most fat like the bum and hips needs a long term solution. our metabolism if you did not know if your bodies processes that burn energy and fat as well to create energy. If you have a sluggish metabolism fat is stored easily and if you have a high metabolism you may be able to eat a lot and never put on weight.

Having a high enough metabolism to burn that fat for energy from the central storage areas will allow the world to see the natural firm and toned shape of your bum after you have been exercising it.

Deadlifts are great too. If you looking to tone your bum, you should really focus on cardio and diet to bring about fat loss - this will bring out better definition.

Nice lens. Looks like you need to spell check your paragraphs up at the top. It says "lungs" a lot instead of "lunges" and various other misspellings. Just FYI. :)

I personally think a great way of toning your bum and thighs is to do squats on your bed, as the bed wobbles you use more muscles as you squat!
