Center Yourself with Mandalas, Coloring Pages

Updated on January 9, 2017

Mandala Coloring Pages

Loosely translated, the Sanskrit word "mandala" means circle. This shape represents wholeness. The mandala appears in many aspects of life. For example the sun, earth, and moon, and also in more conceptual ways such as in circles of friends and family.

Simply looking at mandalas is a visual delight. To do this, first retreat to a quiet place. Follow the lines with your eyes. If you want to concentrate, follow from from the outside to the inside. If you wish to open yourself up to something, follow the lines from the inside to the outside. Doing this centers us. This means that it can lead you to your center and is therefore a kind of meditation.

When coloring a mandala, start from the outside and work your way in or the other way around, the same way you would follow it with your eyes. Choose a design that delights you and any colors you wish. Don't worry about making it perfect. Mandals for coloring are a pleasurable form of meditation. They will relax you and when you have finished you will even have something to hang on your wall!

Since I have taken up coloring in the past few months I find that Mandalas are my favorite thing of all to color. These can be beautiful works of art when they are colored. I have to commend those who come up with the different designs for these. They really are unique and beautiful.
