Changing Your Life with Emotional Freedom Therapy

Belonging to a family with a lot of emotional health issues and struggling with these issues myself, I have done a lot of research into how to help. I used to believe that mental and emotional health problems were chemical in nature and would respond well to a drug that changed the body's chemistry. But after seeing that drugs can cause other problems such as increased risk of suicide and other potential health problems, I began to search for other means of helping with emotional health problems. Talk therapy has been used for a long time, but sometimes it does seem to get stuck in past issues.
I do believe that the power of our thoughts can make a big difference in our lives. I have believed for many years now that what we put into our minds does affect us. Many things we can not prevent from going into our thoughts. We hear someone saying something negative and it affects us. We see something violent and it affects us. We are involved in an accident and it affects us.
When we see someone smile, we feel like smiling. When we hear someone laughing, we feel like laughing. When someone hugs us, we feel warmth and caring. When someone says I love you, we feel cared about and worthwhile.
Most medical treatment consists of chemical or surgical treatment. Although stress is a proven factor in illness most treatment does not focus on reducing the stress. Sometimes the treatment even creates more stress, such as how to pay the high cost of the medical bills. Most treatment also doesn't deal with the electrical or energy parts of our bodies. Energy therapy is focused on reducing stress and increasing our energy. Emotional Freedom Therapy focuses on current and past stress and helping to eliminate the interference with our energy fields.

How Can EFT Help You?

I was standing in the post office waiting for all the packages I needed to send out to be processed. The postmistress and the clerk were talking about the clerk's wife. She had been prescribed a medication that has been removed from the market because of the health problems it created. The clerk was talking about the pain his wife was going through and how she could hardly work. He commented that she may have to go out on disability soon.

As I thought about what was being said later, I thought you can go to a doctor and seek treatment to heal you but you have no guarantee that you will be helped. Doctors don't give you your money back if they can't heal you. Pain pills may be prescribed to help you cope, but they may create problems too. I started to think how grateful I was that I stumbled across EFT on the internet.

What if you had something you could do to relieve pain until you could get medical treatment? Wouldn't it be nice to not have to sit in a doctor's waiting room or the emergency room waiting for help trying to deal with the pain. What if the pain could be totally relieved or even be gone before you arrived at the doctor's office or the hospital? What if you could help your body heal without even having to go to a doctor?

What if you could quickly fall asleep at night or quickly go back to sleep if you awaken? What if you could get rid of the anxiety or anger that feels like it is overpowering you? What if you could feel peace and comfort even when things aren't going right?

What if you could eliminate some of your self-defeating behaviors? What if you could attract abundance to you? What if you could accomplish more with your time and effort?

What if you could help a child to feel better? What if you could help your pet stop limping or enjoy better health? What if you could make the world around you better?

EFT has been known to help in many situations. In some situations it may help immediately. In other situations it may take some work and time before it helps, but it provides you with a tool that you can use to help you feel better. Whether it works fast or slow with EFT you have a way to help yourself.

How EFT Has Helped Me

I'm not an expert on EFT, but I have tried it for myself. I have had success in using it for times I can't sleep. Usually I do a couple of rounds, and I fall asleep before I have finished. When I am dealing with pain that is keeping me awake, it takes a lot more effort. There are probably some hidden aspects of the pain that I don't realize.

I also find EFT useful when dealing with emotional problems in my family. I have always prayed and been grateful to turn to prayer, especially when I don't have the power to fix the problems. In addition now I can do EFT for my own concerns and worries. I no longer feel powerless and out of control.

EFT is another tool to deal with life's challenges, and I am very grateful to have learned about it.

A Simple Way to Reduce Emotional Intensity

This technique can help when you are feeling intense emotions. When anger, sadness, anxiety or other emotions overwhelm you, here is a way to deal with them without having to give up. A couple of days ago I was very saddened by what a friend said. Finally I remembered to tap and I started feeling calmer. A little later my friend came to my home and explained to me why she had said what she did. I took personal offense with what she said when she was only concerned about me. What a great blessing energy healing is. Try it for yourself next time you start to feel overwhemed with your feelings.

      @lclchors: I'm glad this information has been interesting to you. Sometimes I forget how helpful these techniques can be. The other night my dog woke me at 1:30 a.m. needing to go out. After letting him out and back in again, I tried to go back to sleep. I was tossing and turning and getting frustrated at the fact that I couldn't go back to sleep quickly. Then I remembered to do some EFT. I only remember doing about 2 rounds of EFT before I must have fallen asleep. I hope I'll remember to use EFT sooner next time instead of getting frustrated.

      I had heard of this quite awhile ago. Where depression and emotional stress are concerned each person must find their own personal method which works for them. I agree that drugs are not the solution for most cases, some with severe chemical imbalance it is, but wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all heal naturally.

      EFT sounds interesting and unbelievable (but I still believe in it). I'm currently learning Quantum Touch, it's some kind of energy therapy too.

      EFT is new to me but I'm glad to hear it has been helpful to you. Those medication side effects can be difficult to deal with. Thank you for sharing personally, you never know who you are going to help.q

      Very useful lens you have. Keep it up. EFT done with deep breathing after each tapping point will automatically induce a trance. EFT training ; it is extremely powerful and the results are lasting.
