Grapes are of different types-green, red, black and purple. Grapes were introduced by Spain to America almost 300 years ago. They are a kind of berries. Grapes are rich in antioxidants, vitamin K and C. Grapes are widely used all over the world in making dried raisins, wine, jam and jellies. When left in sunlight, grapes dry naturally and turn into raisins. It takes about 2.5 pounds of grapes to prepare a bottle of wine. Over seventy-two million tons of grapes are cultivated every year worldwide, most of which are used to produce various types of wine.

Grapes have a distinct flavor and texture which has made them a quick and instant fruit to have all over the world. Consuming grapes is beneficial in a number of ways because these tiny berries contain a good amount of vitamins and minerals that are excellent for your health.

Adding plant foods like grapes in your diet is associated with decreased risk of heart diseases, diabetes, obesity and other serious health conditions. Grapes contain antioxidants which can prevent certain types of cancer as well.

The fiber content in grapes help relieve constipation and digestive disorders thereby improving bowel movement and immunity.

Due to their anti-inflammatory properties, grapes eliminate skin allergies, acne and blemishes thus giving you a flawless enviable skin.

Grapes are an excellent source of micro nutrients such as copper, iron, manganese which are good for the formation of the strength of bones. Manganese is also responsible for the proper functioning of nervous system. Red wine which is made out of grapes helps prevent cavities, research's show.
