How To Lose Weight: Looking Good For The Spring

Updated on January 5, 2013

5 Tips To Ensure You Lose Weight

Diets that will help you lose weight. Everyone seems to be looking for lose weight tips. The problem is these are not as easy to find. Well you can find tips that will help you shed those pounds, but they either are not healthy or do not work. If losing weight was so easy then no one would have a weight problem. The diet industry would go bankrupt and the fast food restaurants would fold.

The truth is gaining weight is a lot easier than losing it. People look for quick diets. This way they can lose weight quickly. The problem is that in order to lose 1 pound, we must burn about 3500 calories. This is above and beyond what you already burn with your daily activities. Most people won't even try to burn an additional 3500 calories in one day. This would be unhealthy and practically impossible. Even though if you ever watched a high school wrestler, they seem to do it all the time.

You can however take this process slowly and learn as you go. Losing weight does not have to be a difficult process, it can be as easy or as hard as you want it to be. Most people tend to start heavy and gain it all back. They do not look at the long picture, and calculate what it takes to lose and keep the pounds off. This is where failure comes in to play. What are the first 3 letters of the word DIEt?

Diet, spells die with a t. Does this mean that they are destined to fail? Lets think about it for a bit. If you created a crash diet. Spent the money to market your system, had people buy your book. They all lost the weight they wanted to and were able to keep it off. Would they ever return to you to buy again? Of course not, they are doing what they want. Even if you had another book, they would not need it. This is my personal view of the famous diets. They set you up for failure, this way you come back and buy the next book.

If your ready, we can start losing weight with the following easy to follow tips. They are not difficult and will produce results that your looking for.

  1. Keep a food journal. You need to know what you intake each day. This will give you an idea on what you need to burn in order to reach your weight loss goal. Keeping in mind that you need to burn 3500 calories above and beyond what you already do in order to lose just a single pound.

  2. Know how many calories you currently burn. This is what will make the first tip work. The average person will take in 2000 calories each day and burn 2300 each day. This means that they burn approx 2100 calories each week. You need to reach 7000 calories burned in order to lose 2 pounds a week.

  3. Exercise. This does not mean that you need to run out and join a gym. That will only prove to be short term and you will quit, waste your money and be disappointed in yourself. What you do need to do is get up, get moving for at least 60 minutes a day. Do not worry if you can not do this for 1 hour starting. Always start small and be safe. But, the more you move the more you burn. The better the results.

  4. Start eating the right foods. This tip is not my favorite because I do not believe in bad foods. I believe in bad portions. Then there are those who look at it the other way. Just remember that the more you eat the more you have to burn. Know how many calories are in your food. Simply put.

  5. Stick to it! The most important tip of them all. You need to stick to the plan in order for it to work. Too many people start this life changing plan and quit. This is where you can stop the insanity and lose the weight that you desire.

5 tips that will insure your weight loss. All you have to do is want it, and make it work. No diets, no pills and no cost. This is the best part. Those diet books cost $15 to $20 each. Why would you even bother? Spend that money on your new clothes because your going to need them.
