Do Women Do Too Much?

Updated on April 18, 2014

Are Women TOO Busy?

So tell me, do you take time out for yourself? Are you too busy or do you think things are great the way they are? Do you even have time to ask yourself these questions? Do you think you should? Do you feel guilty for thinking about "your" needs? Is there a story about YOU that you are neglecting? Do you cry alone?

So many questions hey? Well I think it is important to ask them of yourself... TODAY!

I confess that I go back and forth with it all. Some days I think I want to be lazy and so I am. Other days I know I must buckle down and get things done. The difference is being aware of who you are in each minute. Be aware of YOU and embrace yourself. Create goals and decide which ones are truly important to you. Create a 1-10 list. If some goals don't make a 10? Chuck them and choose to smell the roses instead. It is that simple.

Do you know what TODAY IS?

TODAY IS YOUR BEGINNING.

THE IMAGE IS OF MY PAINTING "ORCHIDS"30X40X2 OIL ON CANVAS.. original sold and lives in Kauai,HI but prints and giclees are available.

Minerals are very important! I really like the Life Extension brand too.

Do you have any hobbies?

I've been painting since I was a little girl and so I call myself an artist. It took me a long time to say that to people and I am not really sure why exactly. My hobby became my profession I guess. Art is great therapy so whether you draw or write or cook or whatever.. do it often!. Pictured is one of my paintings, "Love You As Much As i Do" 36x48 oil on canvas available in prints and giclees.

Try Sculpting!

One step at a time right? We have to learn to pace ourselves. I finally figured out how to make my own UTubes so I have been posting them in my lenses. This YouTube is of my sculpture series "Bleeding Wings"

eBay is Great too for supporting each other as women

I usually add Ebay to promote women artists. These are BUSY women who are doing it all!

Be Who YOU REALLY Are

Don't pretend to be happy if you are not. Be honest with yourself so that you can begin to fix it!

Here is a poem I wrote about a women who said she was happy when she was not:

"I Captured Pictures of Eos Goddess of the Dawn and Saw That She Was Weeping"

I captured pictures of Eos

Goddess of the dawn.

I spied her

and despite what she might tell you

that she no longer frets for love

she was seen weeping

by my companion

and I.

In honor of romance

I slipped out of my clothes

and spread them on the sidewalk

chalk lines my missing presence

if you had not noticed.

Standing back

I see pretenses

they're melting

at least within my own measure

and that might be the cost of loving

too deeply.

I am a faery queen

and Eos knows me now.

In the afternoons I meet up with her

and I listen to her pining

lonesome woes

this sacred goddess

longing to know

love.

In honor of our friendship

I blessed our meeting on pieces of the sky.

For Eos

I placed an alter among the sleeping clouds.

There I lined up rows of tiny boxes

placed a votive candle in each

and lit them with the flame of a dragons tongue.

Along the wispy vaporized path

I placed a thousand poems

to be understood by everyone

who has ever longed for love.

Within the sentiment of the night

I held a vial of blood

remembering days of yore

deceased

graves were meant for visiting.

Magic bares a special curtain

best selling Goddess tarot cards

tis not up to me to fold

or leave that hope open.

I will wait on the seashore

hope each passer by takes it in

as a dove meets the wire

no longer sleeping nor forlorn

meeting some sort of peace.

I am a fairy queen

I say it cause I want to be.

I breathe in the circumference of the moon

sometimes

once in awhile

it smiles back at me.

Unlock the door to creativity

that's the goal of all artists.

Open the doors and let it fly

by

and by.

Find that world of fantasy

that was soo real when we were little.

Eos

Goddess of the Dawn

I spied her

and despite what she might tell you

there was love left under her pillow

as the clouds floated by.

Women do approximately 70% of the work (according to a UN study) and yet we are paid (STILL) about 1/3 less than men (in all fields, overall). Astounding! Women do DO too much, I feel and it's taking a toll on our children. Luckily, men are catching up (and I feel) doing a great job helping to raise children. Most households require two incomes so chores need to be divided equally among family members (male or female).

Kathy, you have hit upon something here ... women make the world go around ... I believe women play a pivotal role ... usually it is behind the scenes, bolstering the men of the world who often wear the pants.

Great lens. We do what needs to be done (and then some), I think. As I've gotten older, I figure *I* am not responsible for lots of that and have learned to relax more.
