Cleaning Earwax with an Ear Cleaning Kit

Updated on September 13, 2013

Using an Ear Cleaning Kit

Ear wax build up can cause a person a lot of problems, but it is something that can be easily resolved by using an ear cleaning kit. They are inexpensive and will usually correct the issue. They can offer big savings when used properly, compared to the cost of having a physician perform the cleaning. Some of the problems you can encounter from ear wax blockages are decreased hearing, dizziness, ear pain, a plugged sensation in the ear, and ringing in the ear.

Most doctors and physicians will recommend against using Q-Tips or other brands of cotton swab for cleaning the inside of the ear canal. Using cotton swabs inside the ear canal can result in pushing wax deeper into the ear canal which can contribute to wax blockages. There is also the risk of damage if a swab is inserted too far into the ear canal.

Ear cleaning and wax removal kits will typically include a bulb or syringe and and ear drop solution designed to soften and loosen excessive ear wax to allow easy removal.

We will take a look at some of the highest rated and recommended ear cleaning kits below.

@healthusa: I have heard that COQ-10 promotes healthy cardiovascular and immune system functions, but had never heard of it playing role in improving hearing or helping with ear cleanliness. I'll have to take a closer look at it.

COQ-10 is supposed to help with hearing (it's supposed to make a difference if you have hearing problems), cleaning your ears isn't the only way to take car of them

Hate to even say it out loud but after visiting the doctor a few times and getting the irrigation, I found that I could more cost effectively, let me rephrase that... much more cost effectively do the same thing myself.
